Hog hair brushes are ideal for acrylic, poster and oil paint. The natural filaments are coarse enough to hold lots of paint whilst applying the paint smoothly. Use a damp brush to minimise brush strokes. Flat brushes are great for filling in large areas and can be used on their narrow edge for greater control.
